Every day, we work to create a safer, more productive, higher performing, more diverse, and more just work environment for our employees. We bring these ambitions to life through programs that touch many aspects of the employee experience.

Leadership Principle: strive to be earth’s best employer

Leaders work every day to create a safer, more productive, higher performing, more diverse, and more just work environment. They lead with empathy, have fun at work, and make it easy for others to have fun. Leaders ask themselves: Are my fellow employees growing? Are they empowered? Are they ready for what’s next? Leaders have a vision for and commitment to their employees’ personal success, whether that be at Amazon or elsewhere.

Creating inclusive experiences

Our ability to innovate on behalf of our customers relies on the perspectives and knowledge of people from all backgrounds. We believe that building a culture that is welcoming and inclusive is integral to people doing their best work and is essential to what we can achieve as a company.
Our vision is to create inclusive experiences everywhere. Amazon has changed the world through its focus on the customer—and we are approaching diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and accessibility the same way. Our strategy focuses on using technology wherever possible to create inclusive experiences for employees, customers, and communities around the world.

Promoting accessibility in our operations

We're fostering an inclusive work environment by installing sign language video stations at over 200 sites in Canada, France, Poland, Spain, the U.S., and the UK, with more countries to follow. The stations display videos on sign language topics to help employees learn basic sign language and improve communication with deaf or hard-of-hearing colleagues.
